Research Interests

My main interest is about brain connectivity: in particular, how different networks develop over time and whether one area affect the activation of another under specific condition (functional and effective connectivity).

During my PhD, I will explore brain connectivity with both fNIRS and EEG in a longitudinal study aimed to investigate the developing of facial mimicry from 4 months old until 3 years old. I discovered my interest in neuroimaging during my Master Degree and during my internship spent half in Milan and half at the USC in Los Angeles, I had the possibility to explore different methods of analyses of functional neuroimaging. I moved my first steps in exploring brain connectivity applied to psychiatric disorders, and then I moved to the fascinating world of developmental neuroscience to better understand how and when brain areas start to talk to each other.
