Research interests
I am interested in the development of action planning and problem-solving in naturalistic situations. My PhD research focused on how young children learned to plan complicated action sequences. To investigate this development, I used fun naturalistic tasks with Duplo blocks in which preschoolers can move freely and wireless methods such as motion capture and wearable fNIRS. My first study in the ToddlerLab has featured in the New Scientist.
I am currently postdoctoral researcher on the collaborative problem-solving project funded by the Leverhulme Trust. We are interested in how solving a problem together with a peer develops through preschool period, and we use EEG, fNIRS and motion capture in the new ToddlerLab to investigate this development.
